My husband and I are extremely picky when choosing a hotel, so we read a lot of reviews before making a decision. What stood out about Maruba Resort was the location. We wanted to experience the jungle and interact with the locals, without sacrificing the comforts of home.
Here we had everything we asked for and more. Our suite was very original, the mattress was one of the best we’ve had in a while. The hot-tub was one of a kind - like everything else around the resort.
One of the highlights of our stay was the private small group tours that they organized. We joined 3 of their tours and we also did the mood mud massage. Oh boy, you have to include this massage on your bucket list. It is more than a massage, it’s a laugh therapy.
The resort has amazing surroundings. For some reason it didn’t feel like we were in a resort, because there was so much nature around us, that the whole space felt peaceful and relaxing.
We’ve stayed at many hotels, but this is of the few places where we made friends with other guests and the staff… Everybody was great! It didn’t feel like we were on vacation, if felt like we were hanging out with friends we’ve known for years. The owners create a great atmosphere around the resort. Oh, I almost forgot about the food… Goodness, everything we ordered was delicious.
I would recommend this resort to families, couples and even solo travelers who are interested in culture, nature, private tours and appreciate having all the comforts of home. I’m so glad we decided to stay at Maruba. We hope we can go back soon.
