There’s something especially decadent about getting a pedicure in the jungle. Maruba Resort and Jungle Spa, in northern Belize, is offering some great spa deals this summer. Our favorite? Their signature “Mood Mud” body scrub. Brimming with minerals, Maya mud is the kind of rich goop that you’ll happily smear on your body.

You can pick the mud to match your mood: Red Daji “arouses strength, health, sex, passion, and courage.” We’ll take a double dose, muchas gracias.

The best part is that treatments are offered in breezy outdoor cabanas. Close your eyes against the warm sun, submit to the mud’s rejuvenating tingle, and… hold on – is that a toucan? Tropical critters roam freely through the green-friendly resort, where the natural surroundings are incorporated at every turn.

Maruba’s suites are all very sensual: Mahogany ceilings, raw silks, wafting incense, mosaic bathrooms, and red hibiscus flowers tossed onto feather beds. But it’s all done with a wink and with quirky details like a carved wooden penis as a toilet paper holder in the lobby bathroom; palm fronds as placemats; and walls embedded with recycled glass bottles of Belikin beer and Fanta. In the ecological spirit of Belize, little goes to waste, so not only do you emerge with your pores clean and glowing, but your conscience too.

Okay, time for cocktails: Here, it’s rum punch served in a hairy coconut with the top lopped off. Try and find that in Manhattan.

A one-day rejuvenation package, which includes two spa treatments of your choice, plus lunch, is $185. Fun Father’s Day packages feature a full-day saltwater fishing trip and complimentary breakfast. Rooms start at $200.
